Hello! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.

My name’s Claire, and I’m a friendly, fully qualified teacher with a real passion for helping young people discover their confidence and reach their potential — especially in Maths and English. I currently work at a local sixth form college, supporting students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), and bring that same nurturing, personalised approach to my tutoring. Whether your child is just starting out in Key Stage 2 or is a young adult working through the Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills pathway, I’m here to offer support that’s calm, caring, and completely tailored to them.

I specialise in working with students aged 16 to 25 with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), delivering Functional Skills Maths and English (Entry Levels 1–3) in a way that’s engaging, accessible, and always at the learner’s pace. My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and focused on building self-belief — because when a student feels safe and supported, that’s when real progress happens.

Learning doesn’t look the same for everyone, and I understand that. That’s why sessions are designed around each student’s strengths and needs. Whether we’re working on reading confidence, spelling and writing, or tackling practical maths skills for everyday life, I make sure we go at the right speed, using activities and resources that make learning feel positive — never pressured.

I also work with primary-aged students preparing for their SATs, helping them develop core skills in reading, writing, spelling, and arithmetic. With fun, structured lessons and regular encouragement, I support younger learners to feel proud of their progress and ready to face test day with confidence.

Parents often tell me they see a real change in their child’s attitude after just a few lessons — not just in their skills, but in their self-esteem too. That’s what I love most about this job: helping students realise that they can do it, and watching them start to believe in themselves.

Sessions are available online or in person (depending on location), and I always start with a relaxed chat to learn more about your child’s needs, goals, and learning preferences. No pressure — just a chance to explore whether we’re a good fit.

If you’re looking for a warm, experienced tutor who understands how to support both neurodivergent learners and mainstream students alike, I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s work together to help your child feel confident, capable, and ready for what’s next.
